SOMSIREN, a word combining SOM (the Portuguese word for sound), and SIREN (from ancient Greek mythology) began in 1999 with mixtapes (and mix CD’s) The tradition has continued and morphed into lovingly curated playlists posted each week, alongside original photographs. For the love of music.
A SOMSIREN favorite, Winston Elliott, multidisciplinary designer, creates simply to share Joy. I can’t keep from smiling when seeing his work. His pieces are layered with the exploration of human feels—themes of introspection, nostalgia, queer identity, and romantic notions. We worked together to bring you the sounds that inspire him to create and genuinely make us smile. The cover was beautifully created by Winston using SOMSIREN photographs.
